Triple necklace with tourmaline beads and two chains

We used the following DIY materials to assemble this nacklace:

• Tourmaline beads, faceted, 3mm (38cm)
• Figaro chain with facets, 0.40mm, gold-plated sterling silver (45cm)
• Figaro cable chain, long links, gold-plated stering silver (48cm) 
• 3 cm Heart cable chain, gold-plated sterling silver (alternatively: chain extender)
• Pendant "Ohm", gilded steel
• Silk beading thread, 0.6mm, black
• 2 crimp ends with eyelet, gold-plated silver
• 2 jumprings, 5mm, gilded sterling silver
• 1 lobster claw clast, 9mm, gilded sterling silver

First, you string the beads on silk beading thread ... then you fasten a crimp end on either side. For this necklace we have chosen faceted tourmaline beads with a diameter of 3mm. The tourmaline strand is 38cm long and shorter than the two chains.

Next, you combine the strand of beads and the two chains. Cut the chains to length (in our version the figaro chain with shorter links is 45cm and the chain with long links 48cm). 

Use a 5mm jumpring to combine the two chains and the strand of beads at one end and add a 3cm long piece of heard cable chain. Then you take a second 5mm jumpring and connect the other ends. This time you add a lobster claw clasp. 

We use the chain with heart-shaped links as a chain extender so the length of the necklace can be adjusted. But you can also use a standard chain extender.

Finally, you attach a pendant to the longest chain with a jumpring. (See Smyks' vast selection of pendants & charms)

Short necklace with pendants

We used the following DIY materials to assemble this nacklace:

• Cable chain AR60 38cm, gilded sterling silver
• 7 jumprings, 4mm, gilded sterling silver
• 1 lobster claw clasp, 11mm, gilded sterling silver
• (Optional: chain extender)
• Pendant, hammered coin, 8mm
• Pendant, rustic coin, 8mm
• Pendant, lotus (currently not in stock)

• Pendant, curved square, gilded brass
• 1 smoky quartz bead
• 1 Rhombus shaped freshwater pearl (See Smyks' large selection of freshwater pearls)
• 2 headpins with ball, gilded sterling silver

Connect the various pendants to the chain with 4mm jumprings. Pull the smokey quartz bead and the pearl on headpins and form a loop with windings above the bead/the pearl. See our DIY guide on how to make a loop over a bead or pearl. Once that is done, you can attach them to the chain with jumprings. 

When the pendants are fastened, you connect a lobster claw clasp to one end and optionally a chain extender to the other end.

• Tourmaline beads, faceted, 2mm (15cm)
• Cable chain, small hearts, gilded sterling silver
• Cable chain, hearts, gilded sterling silver
• Silk beading thread, 0.45mm, black
• 2 crimp ends with eyelet, gold-plated silver
• 2 jumprings, 5mm, gilded sterling silver
• 1 jumpring, 4mm, gilded sterling silver
• 1 lobster claw clasp, 9mm, gilded sterling silver
• 3cm cable chain, hearts, gilded sterling silver (optional: chain extender)
• Pendant, hammered coin, 8mm

First, you string the beads on silk beading wire ... then you fasten a crip end on either side. For our version we used faceted tourmaline beads with a diameter of 2mm. The strand of beads is 15cm long and shorter than the chains. See our DIY guide on pearl necklaces with silk thread if you are not sure how to use the crimp ends.

Next, you cut the two pieces of chain to length. Here the chain with smaller hearts is 16cm long, the one with larger hearts is 17cm long.

After that, you combine the strand of beads and the chains in a 5mm jumpring and add a lobster claw casp.

At the other end, you connect the chains and the strand of beads again with a 5mm jumpring and add a 3cm long piece of heart cable chain.

We use the chain with heart-shaped links as a chain extender so the length of the necklace can be adjusted. But you can also use a standard chain extender.

Finally, you attach the pendant to the longest chain with a 4mm jumpring. (See Smyks' vast selection of pendants & charms)

Bracelet with sunstone beads and chain

We used the following DIY materials to assemble this bracelet:

• approx. 30 sunstone beads, faceted, 3.5mm
• approx. 1.5m jewellery wire, gold-plated sterling silver, 0.4mm
• 2 twisted rings, gilded sterling silver, 7mm
• Figaro chain with facets, 0.40mm, gold-plated sterling silver (10cm)
• 1 lobster claw clasp, 9mm, gilded sterling silver
• 2 jumprings, 4mm, gilded sterling silver

This bracelet is wrapped around the wrist twice. You can also wear it as a necklace.

First, you make to chains with sunstone beads, each approx. 13cm. For that, you pull each bead on a piece of wire and make a loop with windings on either side, connecting the chain links with each other. See our blog post Earings with gemstone bead links for step-by-step instructions. 

Cut the two twisted rings open carefully and connect the two sunstone bead chains with the figaro chain.

Fasten a lobster claw clasp to one of the ends and a jumpring to the other. If you want the length to be adjustable, you can add a chain extender.
