DIY | Exclusive Bohemian Earrings

In this blog post you will find inspiration and instructions on how to make your own earrings with various semi-precious stones and pendants. The article wants to inspire especially those of you who already are familiar with the basic techniques, like how to make a loop over a bead.

You can create colourful earrings with several rows of different kinds of gemstone beads and cubic zirkonia or you can keep them more simple and monochrome. We have just received new supplies of small pendants ... faceted coins and cubic zirkonia in gold-plated settings.

These earrings are a mini version of the larger Bohemian earrings we presented in an earlier blog post. So now you can take out all your tiny beads and pendants and design your own version of these popular earrings.

All our examples are made with gold-plated sterling silver components, but the components are also available in a sterling silver version. Please click on the links below or contact us if you you have questions.

Where does bohemian jewellery come from?

Bohemian jewellery – often called boho style – traces its origins back to the bohemian movement that emerged in 19th‑century France. The style was first associated with artists, writers and free spirits who rejected conventional norms and expressed themselves through a more unconventional way of living and dressing.

ver time, bohemian jewellery has drawn inspiration from many cultures. It often features ethnic patterns, colourful folk traditions and handmade techniques from around the world. Typical elements include freshwater pearls, tassels, quartz and other gemstones, wood, pendants and charms, feathers and a wide range of natural materials. The look is defined by a relaxed yet artistic approach to accessorising, giving each piece a unique and personal character.

The bohemian style has evolved over the decades and remains popular today – not just as a fashion trend, but as a way to express individuality, creativity and a sense of adventure.

So tap into your own bohemian spirit and create jewellery that reflects you and your personality.
