DIY Bracelet with patterned leather

Smyks has just recieved flat leather with pattern

Use it to make beautiful and simple bracelets – or maybe a narrow belt. It is entirely up to you.

Here we have chosen to show how to make fine bracelets with the patterned leather.

The wide leather with a simple weave pattern you can get in red, grey and brown.

The wide leather with Celtic pattern you can get in dark brown.

The narrow bright leather with the text Love, Heart, Hope you can get in caramel brown and light brown.

How to make the bracelets

Start by cutting the leather to the desired length, then pinch the clasp onto the ends of the leather.

To ensure the leather does not slip out of the clasp, apply a small amount of glue to the ends before squeezing it closed.

You can use pliers or needle-nose pliers for this step. Take care not to scratch the clasp — for extra protection, place a small piece of fabric between the metal and the pliers.

Next, use a 4 mm gold-plated jumpring and fasten a lobster claw clasp on one end .

Then use another 4 mm gold-plated jumpring and attach a 4 mm gold-plated cable chain to the other end .

You do not have to use a cable chain, but it allows you to adjust the size of the bracelet.

Narrow bracelet with text

For the narrow bracelet with the text “Love, Heart and Hope”, we have used a gold‑plated clasp set.

Cut the leather to the desired length, then press the clasp firmly onto the ends of the leather. As an extra precaution, you may apply a small amount of glue to the ends before closing the clasp to ensure a secure hold.
