Create these simple summer necklaces and bracelets using large, colourful bubble beads. Mix and match the colours any way you like — they always add a cheerful pop of colour to any outfit.
Necklaces with one cord
These acrylic beads come in many different colours and sizes.
Simply choose a colour combination you like and string them onto an approximately 80 cm long, 0.9 mm polyester cord.
The necklaces shown above are finished with a simple knot at the back, but if you prefer, you can make the necklace adjustable with a macramé sliding knot.
Necklaces with two cords
Select your desired beads and thread.
Start by placing 5 beads onto a 90 cm polyester cord. Then take an 85 cm polyester cord — preferably in a different colour — and pull it through the first bead.
Thread the remaining beads onto the cord, and then pull it through the last bead (in the example, we pulled the cord through the yellow bead, added the red beads, and then pulled it through the other yellow bead). To secure the beads, tie a knot on each side of the cord. Finish the necklace with a knot at the back.
Colourful Bracelets with Acrylic Beads
We used acrylic beads and 0.9 mm polyester cord to make these colourful bracelets. Start by pulling the cord through the bead — we used 4 and 5 cords. Don’t be afraid to mix colours! Tie a knot on each side of the bead to keep it centred on the bracelet, then finish the bracelet with a sliding knot.
You can of course use other beads or pearls; we chose acrylic beads because their large holes make it easy to thread multiple cords through them.
Now your colourful, bubbly summer jewellery is ready to wear.
