Delica beads are still a big hit and are available in a wide array of different colours. We have made a small collection, which we hope will inspire you to make your own jewellery using Delica beads.
 

Delica necklace with tassel

Here are a few examples of Delica necklaces with a tassel.

To make a Delica necklace with a tassel, you’ll need the following materials:

Mixed orange Delica beads
1pc. orange tassel
Silk thread, white, 0.60mm
1pc. gilded 6mm jump ring
1pc. gilded 3mm crimp cover
+ glue

The spool of silk thread holds 2 metres, with a needle already attached at one end. Begin by tying a knot in the end of the thread.

Then moisten the thread and straighten it, smoothing out any kinks or bends. If you skip this step, the necklace may sit crooked, as the beads don’t weigh much. Once the thread is straight, begin threading your beads. Continue until your necklace measures approximately 80 cm.

Tie the two ends together with a simple knot and apply a small dab of glue to secure it.

Once the knot is set, carefully close a crimp cover over it. A pair of chain-nose pliers works well for this.

Now attach the tassel to your necklace. We chose to trim the tassel shorter. You attach the tassel to your necklace with a jump ring.

Your summer necklace is now done and ready to be worn.

Delica necklace with chain

This is another elegant necklace, made with Delica beads, small celestial crystals and gilded chain.

We used the following DIY components to make this necklace:

60cm gilded AR30 cable chain
approx. 15cm doublé gilded 0.5mm wire
Delica bead, matte turquoise 
Delica bead, 24K light cool gold
3pcs. Celestial crystal, 3mm sky blue
3pcs. Celestial crystal, 3mm forest green

Start by forming a simple loop at the end of your wire. Before you begin twisting the wire beneath the loop, insert the cable chain into the loop. Add your beads, then create a second eye and thread the cable chain through it once more before twisting the wire to finish and secure the piece.

Your necklace is now complete.

We’ve used 60 cm of cable chain for this necklace, which means you can slip it on and off without a clasp. If you prefer a shorter necklace, you’ll need to add a clasp.

Smyks has just received a selection of 3 mm Swarovski crystal bicones. They pair beautifully with Delica beads and add a touch of sparkle to your designs.

Delica bracelets

You can easily make these bracelets yourself. They use the same technique shown in our previous blog post Mini‑bracelets with Delica beads. For the red bracelet, we’ve also added a red 3mm Swarovski Crystal bicone.

Delica Storage Box

You can now get a high‑quality storage box with 30 glass jars for your Delica beads at Smyks. Each jar has a twist cap and holds one 7.5 g tube of Delica beads.
