DIY | Daisy Wreath with Delica Beads

We're going to take a look at a true classic in beadwork; the daisy chain. The flower vine motif can be made with many different types of beads, whether it's zircons, seed beads or freshwater pearls, and can become your latest creations in earrings, necklaces, bracelets and finger rings.

In this blog post, we'll show you how to think outside the design box and make beautiful daisy hoops and finger rings using silver wire instead of thread.

The daisy motif is also perfect for those who haven't made beaded motifs before. In just a few simple steps, these flowers are finished and ready to adorn your upcoming jewelry projects.

Watch below and get started on your next jewelry project with pretty little flower motifs!

Little Hoop with Daisies

We used the following DIY components to make these earrings:

+ cutting pliers

First, you thread 4 rose-coloured beads and 1 dark red metallic bead onto the wire. Then, you pull the wire through the 1. rose-coloured bead.

Tighten the wire. The wire end should be approx. 5cm long.

String 3 rose-coloured beads and pull the wire through the 4. rose-coloured bead (see picture).

Tighten the wire. The first little flower is done.

String 5 pale pink beads and 1 rose metallic bead. Then you pull the wire through the 2. pale pink bead.

Tighten the wire.

String 3 pale pink beads and pull the wire through the 5. pale pink bead (see picture).

Tighten the wire. Now, the first 2 flowers are done.

String 5 dark red metallic beads and 1 rose-coloured bead ... and pull the wire through the 2. dark red bead.

Continue like this assembling flowers in different colours.

You need 9 flowers in total to cover the hoop.

Place the flowers over the hoop and wind the wire around the hoop at one end.

Wrap the wire underneath the hoop and wind it around the hoop 1 time directly behind the first flower.

Wind the wire around the hoop 1 time directly in front of the next flower.

Wrap the wire underneath the hoop ... and wind it around the hoop directly behind the 2. flower.

Again you wind the wire around the hoop directly in front of the 3. flower.

Continue winding the wire around the hoop twice between the flowers. The back side of the hoop will look like this (see picture above).

The last piece of the hoop should not be covered by flowers, you need to leave space for the ear lobe.

Wind both wire ends around the hoop a couple of times.

Cut off the excess wire ends. Your daisy hoop is done.

Large Hoops with Daisies

We used the following DIY components to make these earrings.

+ cutting pliers

The large hoop is done in the same way as the little hoop with daisies. See instruction above.

Little Daisy Wreath

We used the following DIY components to make these earrings.

+ cutting pliers

First you assemble 7 flowers as described in our first instruction. Then you close the row of flowers and form a wreath. String 1 bead and pull the wire through 2 beads in the 1. flower. You insert the wire into the bead where the end thread is coming out.

Pull the wire through the next bead (see picture).

Tighten the wire. Now the 2 wire ends come out on either side of one flower.

Wind both wire ends around the wreath a few times.

Cut off the excess wire. Insert a jumpring into one of the beads and fasten it to the earwire.

Daisy Ring

We used the following DIY components to make these rings:

+ cutting pliers

These rings are made in the same way as the little daisy wreath.

Ring with Daisies and Cubic Zirconia

We used the following DIY components to make these rings:

+ cutting pliers

These rings are made in the same way as the little daisy wreath. But as the cubic zirconia are a bit larger than Delica beads, you need 11 beads as petals per flower instead of 8.
